This is an open world, only the description of the two Courts is fixed. The places you go within the Fae lands are designed by you and as changeable if you wish them to be. Dinner in a forest glade one day, supper in the clouds the next.
The home and surroundings of an individual character are also magically crafted by the player to suit their character's requirements. Lakes, meadows, a home among the peaks or lakes, all of these will fit behind a door, inside a room, and every home is different. They are not a requirement, more a convenience.
Player should provide mythology, description etc. of their character for other players to work from.
Ordinary humans do live Underhill. Whether they were enticed, trapped, or came willingly, they cannot leave unless and until they have learned/absorbed a great deal of magic. Time passes strangely in travel to the mortal world and most would turn to dust were they to return unprotected. But they become undying and as such can come from any point in human history.
Fae who can assume a mortal form may travel freely between worlds, to any point in human history, and may return with a human in tow if they wish.
Only humans who have absorbed and learned a great deal of magical power would dare attempt the crossing to the mortal realm unaccompanied.
All species & lore added to this game will be available for other people to use even if the originator leaves.
Rules No godmodding.
There is a line between IC and OOC. Do not cross.
Anything that effects another character in the game (i.e. love triangles, fights and the like) needs to be approved by all characters involved. No one likes to be blindsided so please be considerate of other players!
We don't do activity checks. Instead we expect courtesy and good manners. If you have committed to a thread with another person, courtesy and the game rules dictate that you don't keep them waiting between comments in a thread or log. If for some reason you are going to be longer than a couple of days, let them know.
A thread/log can only be declared abandoned by the parties involved and only following a week of inactivity with no contact between them. The conclusion to the thread becomes theirs to decide.
A single warning will be given for prolonged lack of activity without explanation and we will remove the player without notice for any further abuse.
We expect everyone to pull their own weight and to have their own goals lined up for their character and to at least have some idea on how to incorporate them into the world and interact with the other players in game.
In that vein, when creating your character be sure to use their bio to give them hopes, dreams, quirks, a dark (or light) side. A sad history, a need for revenge, for hope. If you can't think of something we're happy to help with ideas. Look up some Celtic history, or Greek myth and appropriate bits of it for your own use. No need for an biopic opus written in human blood, just imagination. :)
We want everyone to help everyone else here. With NPC's, bits of plot... ideas. No-one should sit on their butt. ;)
There will never be a time when this game allows more than five characters per player lest it becomes a race for faces rather than fun, writing and the satisfaction for all players.
Currently set at: 3
NPC's are welcome if you need a part-time or temporary character to do something or move your plot along.
They are not subject to the character limit. Make your own or ask someone else to play them for you.
No journal required, only a description, icon for posting, short bio of intent kept in your main journal and they can come and go from the game as needed.
Give us a name, face & bio link to add to the NPC listing in the mod journal. EXAMPLE
Big plots, aka births, (permanent) deaths & marriages require the agreement of everyone involved.
Design, decoration, icons, name & AIM. All your choice. Re-used journals & re-written characters are welcome.
A method of contacting you is required.
Post, email, carrier pigeon...something.
